***Fort Worth, TX (January 31, 2009) Fort Worth resident Janine Smith has won the 2008 Photoshop User Awards — the first and only worldwide competition for Adobe Photoshop users, in the photo restoration category. The competition was comprised of 11 categories and received over 700 entries from 12 countries. Category winners each receive a prize package valued at $2500 and will have their work showcased in a future issue of Photoshop User magazine. The Photoshop User Awards are sponsored by the National Association of Photoshop Professionals (NAPP). Ms. Smith is co-owner of Landailyn Research & Restoration, a photo restoration and genealogical services company in East Fort Worth. Her winning entry was a restoration of a circa 1840′s photo of General William Jenkins Worth, for whom Fort Worth was named.***
Wow! This is still hard for me to believe! I learned I had won when I spied an email in my inbox, Thursday (1/29) afternoon with the subject line: “General Worth Wins Photoshop User Award”. I freaked. Loudly. Thanks to all who’ve extended congratulations via the NAPP forum, Twitter and email! I really appreciate your support! A big thank you to those who’ve encouraged me to put myself out there and who have believed in my and my talent. I hope I’m doing you proud! I’m looking forward to this being the beginning of an exciting journey! I’ll be working, in the coming year, on improving and growing my restoration skills, on teaching more, on growing my business and on having my writing published.
